Vivian Burns as ‘Imogen’
Vivian is delighted to be a part of this talented ensemble and amazing production team. Playing opposite her real-life partner as onstage siblings has been a fun theatrical twist. Credits include Late Company (Elevator Theatre), Wide Awake Hearts (Wow Factory), Dancing at Lughnasa (Three Sisters), Midsummer, a play with songs (Plosive), Minding Frankie (SevenThirty Productions), It’s a Wonderful Life: The Radio Show (Plosive), and The Goat or Who Is Sylvia? (Taboo Productions). Favorite musical theatre credits include ‘Mimi’ in A New Brain (TotoToo), ‘Mother’ in Ragtime (Orpheus), ‘Princess Fiona’ in Shrek (Orpheus) and ‘Mary’ in Mary Poppins (ASNY). Vivian is a full ACTRA member and works as a high school dance/drama teacher by day. Love to her bunnies 4ever!

Justin Hay as ‘Ambrose’
Justin Hay is a Toronto-based actor and is delighted to be performing again in Ottawa. Recent theatre credits include A Christmas Carol,Hymns and Hearse and Your Children Will Follow, as well as his solo show My Own Private Shakespeare, most recently performed at the Little Shakespeare Festival in New York. He also wrote and directed Saskatchewan: An Aspirational Polyamorous Adventure, which premiered at the Toronto Fringe. Recent TV and film appearances include Hallmark’s The Perfect Setting and See You Tomorrow on CBC Gem.

GianPaolo Lattanzio as ‘Dan’
GianPaolo is an Italian-Canadian actor, singer, dancer, and creator born in Peterborough, Ontario and raised all over the world. He is a theatre, film, and voice actor. GianPaolo is most known for his portrayal of the role of Stiva (Anna Karenina/George Brown Theatre School), Tarzan (Tarzan – The Musical/Kanata Theatre), and Seymour (Little Shop of Horrors/Belleville Theatre Guild). GianPaolo wants to spark the flames of passion within you that also lie within him. He believes that everyone has a story that they are drawn to, and he hopes to be there when you find yours. Sachi Lovatt as ‘Nicola’
Sachi is an Ottawa native who has recently returned after many years away. Some favourite past credits include two episodes on The Handmaid’s Tale and narrating the Penguin Random House audiobook, Speak, Okinawa. She trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in the UK and is an Equity and ACTRA member.

Michael MacLean as ‘Arthur’
and Assistant Director
Over a 30-year acting career, Michael has appeared on stages across Canada and in the United States, and most recently at the Ottawa Fringe in The Whitefish River. He is also a playwright whose work has been produced… on stages across Canada and in the United States, sometimes with him in it. In Ottawa, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades Theatre has workshopped and presented his play Flying Girl in a staged reading, and later this year Burning Passions Theatre will do the same with Whoosh.

Theresa Stork as ‘Charlotte’
Theresa was born and raised in Germany. In 2019 she made the transition from Berlin to Canada. In Germany she has worked for numerous theatre companies including the Youth Theatre of Bavaria, the New Theatre company of Zeitz, Germany and the Berlin Dungeon Theatre. After moving to Canada she performed in the award winning short movie Seance Speaks Louder Than Words and was one of the lead actors in the play The Tribunal by Breanne Oryschak at the Arts Court Theatre in Ottawa. A stage reading of the one woman show Wifellini also by Breanne Oryschak, in which Theresa performs as the main actor brought her to La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club in New York City earlier this year. Recently she performed as one of the lead actors in the World War II movie Liberation Men, which won several film festival awards. Now she is very excited to perform at The Gladstone Theatre in Private Fears in Public Places with the fabulous team at Plosive Productions.

David Whiteley as ‘Stewart’
and Director
David has been working an actor, director and playwright for nearly three decades. He has performed across Canada and the USA, but most often in Ottawa with companies including the NAC English Theatre, a Company of Fools and many companies here at the Gladstone. After a decade producing at the Ottawa Fringe, he enlisted other indie companies to join his newly-minted Plosive Productions to share the Gladstone’s stage. Plosive has gone on to produce 38 productions here. Along the way, he was delighted to discover Ayckbourn’s genius by attending How the Other Half Loves and subsequently acting in Absurd Person Singular and The Norman Conquests, all at the Gladstone. He is delighted to bring Ayckbourn back for Private Fears, and to have such wonderful company co-creating this production.
Rachel Worton, Stage Manager
Rachel is a freelance multidisciplinary artist based out of the Ottawa Valley. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Technical Theatre, minoring in performance. Rachel collaborates with multiple theatre companies, as well as BeSpoke Audio Visual and OSE. Rachel is a previous nominee with the EODL for ‘Best Stage Manager’. Her ecent projects for the 2024/2025 Gladstone season include 1979 (April 2025), Cautionary Tales (October 2024) and The Lion in Winter (November 2025).
Barry Sims, Sound Design
Barry has been a sound designer for several years and has been involved on several Phoenix Player productions such as A Lion in Winter and 1979. At Ottawa Little Theatre he was the sound designer for A Christmas Carol: Scrooge and Marley and well as on A First Name Basis, and Crimes of the Heart. As well, he has been a lighting and sound designer for various other shows in Manotick and at The Gladstone Theatre. Thanks to the Director for the opportunity to work on Private Fears in Public Places.
