Ex-Plosive

Plosive Productions would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of the following past members, whom we fondly call “Ex-Plosive”:

Teri Loretto

Teri Loretto was one of the three co-founders of Plosive Productions, and served as its Co-Artistic Creator from 2011-2022.

In addition to a long career directing and performing with many companies, her Plosive credits include:

Teri now serves as the Program Coordinator of the Performing Arts program at Algonquin College’s School of Media & Design, and runs Amplitude Theatre with Ottawa playwright John Cook, continuing her legacy of live-on-stage Radio Shows that she produced with Prosive during her tenure. Teri is known to many as the long-standing stand in weather reporter for CBC Ottawa News and fills in as host for CBC Radio One’s In Town and Out. She is a proud member of Equity, ACTRA, Canadian Media Guild, and The Playwright’s Guild of Canada, and has served as VP of ACTRA Ottawa.

Kel Pero

Kel was one of the trio that co-founded Plosive Productions along with David Whiteley and Teri Loretto.

An experienced actor, Kel’s credits at Plosive include playing Lady Bracknel in Plosive’s first show, The Importance of Being Earnest, and directing The Shadow: A Christmas Mysteries Radio Show.

Kel holds a PhD in English Literature and operates KMP and Associates, which offers editing, writing, translation, indexing, and research services.

Chris Ralph

Veteran actor Chris Ralph played Reverend Chausuble in Plosive’s first show, The Importance of Being Earnest, and joined Plosive’s core team the following year through 2018. Plosive credits include:

Fiona Currie

Present at the initial meetings that led to the founding of Plosive Productions, Fiona was made a core member soon thereafter. She contributed behind the scenes in a variety of official and unofficial capacities, including various sound and video designs (notable credits include video projections for Detroit and Blink and sound design for many of the annual Radio Shows) and assisting with production and company management through 2018. Fiona continues to work with Teri and John Cook at Amplitude Theatre to maintain the Radio Show tradition.
